O Lord be Not Mindful / Deliver us for the Glory of Your Name

This is a chant-style hymn about repentance, asking for God's mercy. The chorus is based on Psalms 102 (103), and the verses on Psalm 78:9.

It was written by French Roman Catholic Spiritan (Holy Ghost) priest and composer Lucien Deiss CSSp (1921-2007), and first published as a psalm-response in 1965 by World Library Publications.

It was subsequently included in:
  • Catholic Hymns Old and New, Kevin Mayhew Ltd, England - 2009 and some earlier editions
  • Celebration Hymnal for Everyone, McCrimmon Publications, England, 1994 and 2012 - and this is the only in-print sheet music that has been found.

It is set to an unnamed tune, also by Deiss.   In the key of Em, the first few notes of the melody are E E_ DE GG FF E_ DC B,_
