It the text is attributed to Colm Keane in Hymns Old and New 2009 and some earlier Kevin Mayhew Ltd publications, and it is set to a traditional Italian tune.
No further details of the author have been found. However there is
a sense about the words suggesting they may have been translated.
Irish journalist Colm Keane (1951/52 - 2022) wrote several books about
Italian stigmatist Padre Pio, who had a particular devotion to "Mary Most
Holy" - so it seems possible that he is the author, or at least collected and shared a translation of an Italian folk-hymn.

Lyrics
The lyrics are copyright so cannot be reproduced here. But they are currently available on this website. A rough outline is:1. Mary most holy, from your hands falling
are heaven’s blessings, hear us, now calling.
Chorus:
Teach us to pray, and work for God’s glory.
Ave Maria, ave.
2. Help us to witness Christ is still living,
service to others cheerfully giving.
3. Through joy and sorrow, each day’s condition,
ever, dear Mother, hear our petition.
