This is a Christmas hymn.
It was written by American Roman Catholic priest and liturgical composer Robert J. (Bob) Dufford, SJ (b 1943), and included on the St Louis Jesuits album "Gentle Night: Music for Advent and Christmas".
It is set to an unnamed tune, also by Dufford. This has a 2/4 time signature in the verse and 4/4 in the chorus. In the key of D, the first few notes are F B BB A_ FA D_ with accompanying chords Bm / Em / A / D / Bm.
