It was published by Hodder and Stoughton Ltd of Kent, England, and the first printing was in 1980. Printing was by Lowe and Bydone Printers Ltd of Norfolk, England.
The book includes 142 songs, three are in Latin, 134 in English, and the rest in a mix of English another language, eg English and Spanish.
The songs are grouped into nine sections:
- Songs of praise and thanksgiving,
- Songs of worship,
- Songs of hope, vision and wholeness
- Songs of the Kingdom
- Songs of faith and victory
- Songs of Outreach
- Songs for children
- Psalms
The book also contains a topical index, worship leader's guide, guide to the
use of additional instruments (many songs include parts for these), notes
for guitarists / accompanists, discography as well as an index of first
lines and song titles. There are also gesture drawings showing hand/body movements to accompany many songs.
The cover was designed by Cathleen Morris. The book is spiral bound, slightly larger than A5 size and has 258 pages. The ISBN is 0 304 25159 X. It is now out of print: second hand copies are sometimes available from Amazon and second-hand shops.
A CD featuring 14 songs from the book is still available from the Community of Celebration website.
