It is popular in Africa, where it has been included in a number of hymn-books including the Nigerian Catholic Hymn Book. It is also in Let us Celebrate, Dominican Publications, Nigeria (source), which credits the song to Sister Mary Grace (details unknown).
It may have been included in a recording and accompanying music book made in Australia in the 19(70's?) - the title and likely genre matches, but I have not been able to confirm if the content is the same (ref).
