Micah's Theme (Hear then what Yahweh asks of you)

This hymn is a setting of Micah 6:1 (the chorus) and a number of New Testament quotes. It is attributed to "Anne Kelly", but does not appear to have been published anywhere.

The meter is irregular, with slightly different rhythms in each verse.

The original text was "Hear then what Yahweh asks of you", but many people who use the hymn have now changed it to "Hear what the Lord God asks of you" - and this is reflected in the files here.

    Yes this is Australian and A. Kelly is a nun who is the sister of our living legend singer/songwriter Paul Kelly.

    They have not changed it because they sing,

      Thanks for commenting.

      This change was actually requested by the Vatican, because Jewish people find it offensive when people say the word "Yahweh".

      If a group of nuns are still singing the original words to this hymn, the are not respecting this request. This is possible - but it doesn't sound like most nuns who I have met.
