It was composed by Indian Roman Catholic priest and liturgist Aniceto Nazareth (1938-2021), and first published in 1984. It was included in the 1985 publication Songs of the Spirit 3 - Songs and Hymns of Renewal, and is also in the still-in-print Catholic Hymns Old and New, 2009.
The unnamed tune has a 4/4 time signature and in the key of F the first few notes of the melody are c c cB AG A A.
